Pyramid Lake held at 85 percent of its capacity

Pyramid Lake, CA - Caswell, CA (Los Angeles County)

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

Pyramid Lake held at 85 percent of its capacity. Be sure to stay in the main channel after launching or you will run aground. Trout anglers reported rainbows taking minijigs, dough baits, and various lures in the marina. Striped bass went for cut baits and lug worms. Spoons also took some line sides in deeper water. Topwater baits boated good numbers of striped bass in the marina right when the lake opened. Bass anglers reported large and smallmouth holding in 15 to 40 feet of water. Deep diving cranks, spoons, and drop shot worked to fool fish. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and cut anchovies in the marina and at Yellowbar.
