Isabella dropped to 55 percent capacity and the fishing has been very good for numerous species. The bass bite continues to be solid for 1 to 2-pound fish with an occasional 5 lbs bass in the mix. Last weekend’s Golden Empire Bass tournament was won by a 23 pound bag. Bass are being found shallow and out in deeper water off points. The bigger fish have been found out off points or near trees in 20 to 25-feet of water. Bass have been coming on Whopper Ploppers, Buzzbaits, Poppers, Crankbaits, Texas Rigs and Jigs. Many areas have been producing fish in good numbers, but the top areas this week are Rocky Point, the Flume, Engineer Point and both Dams. They are also finding fish around trees throughout the lake. Crappie anglers have been doing well close to the main Dam in 10 to 15-feet of water. Earlier this week we had reports of good numbers of Crappie coming on Get Bent Baits and live minnows fished 4-feet below a bobber on a slow retrieve. Trout Anglers have had steady action with Get Bent Baits, Garlic Powerbait and spinners. Boat anglers trolling leadcore with Flicker Shad, Tasmanian Devils and needlefish have been scoring good numbers of trout. Catfish are showing at Camp 9 with fish to 10 pounds reported on Dip Baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits.
