Anglers reported a decent bite in the southern aqueduct, with bait proving to be the most reliable option. Cut sardines, anchovies, live worms, and jumbo live shiners all took striped bass, with the best action coming after check gates. Some anglers found success using heavy sinkers, while others reported fly lining baits into the turbulent water as the better approach. Tube baits and Fluke-style baits also produced along the bottom in the same areas. Largemouth bass anglers targeted fish before and after check gates in the eddies, as well as around bridge pylons, inside bends, and outtake grates. Topwater poppers, drop-shot rigs, and Texas-rigged Senkos in green and brown colors all got bites. Catfish anglers also did well using bait rigs or Carolina rigs with cut baits and chicken liver.
