Fishing remained solid, with the lake level sitting at about half full and water temperatures in the mid-seventies. Bass anglers continued to report good topwater fishing with prop-style baits, poppers, and walking baits, and there were even reports of buzzbait activity during the mornings. Spotted bass were readily available in deeper water for anglers using Roboworms on a drop-shot rig, Pro 5-inch Senkos, and 3-inch reapers on jig heads. Watermelon Red Flake, Green Pumpkin, Smokin Shad, and Junebug all proved to be effective color choices. Other successful techniques included jerkbaits, paddle-tail 3-inch swimbaits, and Berkley Flicker Shads worked near baitfish schools. White bass aggressively pursued most topwater offerings, as well as white spoons and swimbaits. Catfish anglers found success fishing chicken liver and dip bait on Carolina rigs, while crappie were available to anglers using mini jigs in various colors at depths ranging from 10 to 24 feet.
