**Good shot at yellowtail on every overnight trip, along with lots of other island critters!**
Quick update for anyone coming out on one of our upcoming trips: we’re planning to check out the offshore scene and target dorado, yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, and maybe even bluefin — all depending on conditions.
**Quick tackle recommendations:**
- 25#, 30#, and 40# setups
- A trolling rod if you have one—not mandatory, but always nice to have
- Make sure your flyline setup has a minimum of 100 yards of monofilament to help avoid those gnarly Spectra tangles. Tangles happen with conditions and multiple anglers, and Spectra can get time-consuming and expensive when it needs to be cut out. Mono tangles aren’t nearly as bad.
- Extra spools of monofilament
- Plastics, poppers, small shiny metal jigs
- 4, 6, 1/0, and 2/0 hooks
- Size 4 and 6 circle hooks
- 20#, 25#, 30, and 40 fluorocarbon line
- A variety of mint, white, and blue yo-yo or surface iron
- A Variety of Sliding egg sinkers and 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz torpedo weights
We’re sold out for the next few trips, but we do have openings toward the end of the month. We’ll be posting our September schedule in the next couple days, so keep an eye on **www.freedomfishing.com**.
We haven’t been posting a ton lately, but if you want to follow our fish counts, check out 22nd St. Landing Sportfishing or head to their website and click “Fish Counts.” You can also give them a call with any questions or to reserve your spot.
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (310) 832-8304 to get in on the action.
