Fishing was productive for aqueduct anglers in the Bakersfield area, with striped bass and catfish providing the best action. The classic white Fluke on a jig head produced limits for several anglers, while aurora black jerkbaits, Rattle Traps, and white paddle-tailed swimbaits also worked well. Bait anglers reported success fly lining cut sardines in the lower flows. Catfish anglers did well in the low flows while Carolina rigging cut anchovies, SSS dip bait, and chicken liver. Largemouth bass were caught on drop-shot rigs with six-inch straight-tailed worms, with darker colors producing the best results. A few fish were also reported on poppers.
