The Department of fish and game has stocked the west ramp on Friday April 30th with rainbow trout for the cast for kid's event. Trout fishing at the west ramp has been doing great all weekend and there are still quite a few big schools of them swimming around ramp area. The Swimbait stripers didn't really seem to go off as they usually do when the trout stir up the water but the striper fishing at the buoy line has been doing fantastic. The fish being caught are not very big but a lot of anglers are limiting out on schoolie stripers by using anchovies and sardines. During the morning hours the west ramp has been a great place for swimbaits and in the evening it gets even better. The large mouth fishing has been doing awesome as well, all over the lake the fish are still up on their beds and are biting mostly plastics and some night crawlers. Largies at the lower lagoon have been doing the best on plastics all day long, and anglers are reeling in some big fish. Tons of 7 + pounders have been caught at the lagoon all week long and they are chasing the shad, so flukes and little minnows are the bait of choice when attacking the largies at the lower lagoon. Crappie and blue gill fishing is still doing fairly well on little crappie jigs and small pieces of worms.
