2700 lbs. of trout were dumped at the main ramp on Monday the 27th which helped the stripers a little bit but not as much as everyone was anticipating. Although there are still a lot of trout that made it through the week and were caught all throughout the New Year, we still can seem to get these stripers active. When the stripers do bite, they are still biting down deep and on cut bait. The large mouth bite has been really good with most of the cold weather we have been seeing. Plastic and a lot of finessing are what it takes to land a bass in these harder times. The lower lagoon has also been a somewhat decent spot for largies as well though it hasn't been doing as well as it has these past couple weeks. Swimbaits at the upper lake from the west and main ramps, is still pretty difficult. Haven't seen too many big fish coming from either side but the anglers who are catching them have been having better luck in the morning hours.

The Department of Fish and Game has stocked the west ramp of the upper lake with 2700 lbs. of rainbow trout. Still not very much striper action even with such a big trout plant. The stripers are hanging out in deeper water all over the lake. In the fish arm, you can locate fish around 60 feet off the points. In the ski arm they are a little deeper between 90 and 130 feet. ...... Read More

We are on the board and scheduled for a trout stocking this week. Most likely by Tuesday or Wednesday we will receive our trout plant. Again we are hoping this might make the stripers a little bit more active on the surface. Some anglers are still catching limits near the buoy line off of sardines and blood worms. The largemouth scene is definitely better than it has been. The largies are being caught everywhere on...... Read More
