Broughton was fishing from a boat with rainbow floating bait when he made the catch. The trout bite has remained especially good for boat anglers and float tubers who can the stream inlet area where a lot of the rainbows have been congregating in the clean water inflow. The top action has been on the green and chartreuse floating dough baits, with the light green garlic dough bait especially productive. But other colors and flavors are also working well, and inflated nightcrawlers with scent are a good bet. Other big fish included a 9 1/2-pounder that anchored a 10-fish, 36 1/2-stringer landed by Sergio Reza and Joaquin Nunez, both Riverside. The pair were fishing rainbow and chartreuse floating baits at the dam to make the catch. A nine-pound trout was caught by Jose Lamas, Simi Valley, on green dough bait at the dam. Enrique Bewright, San Bernardino, had an 8-4 to top off his 26 1/2-pound stringer, landed on green floating bait from a float tube. Kyle and Wes Maxwell, both Chino Hills, had 10 rainbows that weighed 28 pounds, topped with a seven pounder, all while fishing from a boat with chartreuse floating bait.

Corona Lake was planted with Nebraska Tailwalkers last week. Plants of Tailwalkers, Sierra Bows, or Jess Ranch rainbows or steelhead go in each week, with double plants many weeks.
