Upper Lake Water Temp: Mid 50'5 to low 60's
Lower Lagoonwater Temp: low to mid 50's
The Department of Fish and Game does not have Castaic on the schedule for a trout plant for the week of April 10th.
Striper fishing looked promising at the end of last week but hasn't really done much. The few stripers that have been caught are biting fresh dead anchovies and sardines and small pieces of mackerel.
The largemouth at the upper lake are starting to become very active all over the lake on night crawlers and other plastics. The largies are bedding in every cove and anglers are seeing fish everywhere because the water clarity is still around 25-30 feet.
The carp are also still doing very well at both the upper and lower lakes; nightcrawlers and corn are working great for the carp.
The largie fishing at the lagoon is still very good at night and during the day. Tons of 2 to 3 lb largies are being caught along the shore line and from the fishing pier. The pan fish at the lagoon are also still doing very well off the wax worms and small bits of nightcrawlers.

The largies at the upper lake have been doing great all day long on plastics and nightcrawlers. You can sight fish for most of these largies because in...... Read More
Lake Castaic Fish Report
Castaic LakeThe Department of Fish and Game will not be stocking the upper lake with trout the week of March 27th. Striper fishing has still been a struggle lately but the past few weeks some anglers have caught a few of them over by the buoy line and back near Elizabeth canyon. The largemouth bite both at the upper lake and the lower lagoon is absolutely fantastic. Nightcrawlers, crawdads swimbaits, and plastics have been amazing baits at both lakes. In the...... Read More
