Anglers had good fishing, good weather and a good time at Jess Ranch Lakes this week

Anglers enjoyed mild temperatures and light winds again this week. Trout action was good to very good with anglers using PowerBait (especially salmon peach, garlic, and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Hot spots included the western shore of lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2.

Catfish were biting on PowerBait, shrimp and mackerel on the western shore of lake 3 and the western shore of lake 2 with fish up to 4 pounds.

Post spawn bass action was excellent on both lakes with anglers using senkos, spinner bait and drop shotting night crawlers. Hot spots were the northern shore of lake 2 near the bridge, southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall and the western shore of lake 3 from the pump house to the bridge.

Bluegill are biting meal worms and small jigs with limits and fish up to 1 Lbs 8 Ozs. Hot spots for Bluegill include the southern and northern shore of lake 2.

Big Catch of the Week : Romanian angler, Ion Arnaut, caught a limit that included 7 Lbs 11 Ozs and 7 Lbs 9 Ozs rainbows. He used a pearl crappie jig and night crawler to catch the pair and fished the northern shore of lake 2. Cody Jurgenson of West Covina scored a 6 Lbs rainbow using a night crawler from the northern shore of lake 2. Jason Keeler of Norco reeled in a 4 Lbs 4 Ozs trout on an orange Power Worm while fishing the western shore of lake 3.
