The summer heat and light winds slowed the bite this week but anglers who worked their tackle and baits got their trout. Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, garlic and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught limits. Best bite is before 11am. Hot spots included the northern and western shores of lake 2 as well as the western shore of lake 3.

Catfish were caught on night crawlers and mackerel from the western and eastern shores of lake 2 with cats up to 4 pounds.

Anglers are reporting prime bass action using senkos and drop shotted night crawlers on both lakes. Bass hot spots include the eastern shore near the wall and the northern shore near the bridge of lake 2 as well as the northern and western shores of lake 3.

Bluegill bite is fair to good on meal worms and crappie jigs with fish up to one and half pounds. Hot spots for bluegill include the south western and eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern shore of lake 3.
