Largemouth bass in both the upper and lower doing better than all other species. Bass are taking more plastics than anything else. Some cranks and top water action with decent results. Stripers are stacked up in the deeper waters but not on the chew, yet! The occasional striper have ben taken on plugs and swimbaits. No trout action reported.

Castaic LakeAgain Trout Plant did not bring the stripers up. Some small stripers taken from shorelines West Bouys and Dam and near the Marina. Largemouth Bass up closer to the shore taking all kinds of plastics and swimbaits. A few stripers on plugs and swimbaits taken as well in the morning during opening hours. Castaic LakeThe water is in the low low 60's. Striper are liking the cooler water now. They have been popping up all over the lake. Shore guys are reporting lots of schoolies to 6 pounds with some double digits being caught as well. Boaters report the same. LMB going deeper yet again this week but its no impossible to catch. Big plugs, buck tails & swim baits, cut baits, & frozen shad are all still working for both species. The...... Read More
