Anglers enjoyed beautiful weather and great trout action on both lakes this week with lots of limits and nice size fish on most stringers. Trout bite was so good that anglers complained about catching their limits too quickly.
Power bait ( sherbert, orange, yellow, and nymph), night crawlers ( inflated and doused with attractant), jigs lures and senkos all caught limits. Bite remained good throughout the day. Hot spots included the grassy point, the eastern logged shore and the western shore of lake 3 as well as the northern, eastern and western shores of lake 2. Bass are in pre-spawn and anglers report catching up to 4 pound fish on drop shot, spinner bait and senkos. Hot spots for bass include the northern shore of lake 3 and the western, southern and northern shores of lake 2. Bluegill are still not up yet but should be in pre-spawn in the next week or two.
The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
Hours: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays--7am to 4pm. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com.
