Weather:?? The weather changed drastically this week. Temperatures have been as low as the 30's in the morning reaching the mid 60's in the afternoon with some harsh winds late in the day.

Stop by the Marina and tell us about your fish!

BASS
The bass are still biting. The shad have come up near the marina and the east dam leading to an outstanding top water bite. Swimbaits have made the largemouth hit list this week with the LA Slider being preferred choice. Flukes on underspins have been working in the shad schools. Elliott Lewis jr. of Beaumont took advantage of our expanded shoreline twice this week catching his limit both days. His biggest fish were both over 5 pounds. He was fishing in the marina cove with live crawdads.

TROUT
There is almost no trout bite at DVL. Those trolling 40-50 feet down with needle fish or nightcrawlers have caught some trout and the drift fishers have managed a few fish. The west dam and around restroom 3 have the most reported spots.

STRIPER
Striper time is upon us. Striper have been seen boiling on north shore points. Floating swimbaits or large topwater lures have been the best methods for striper in previous years.??

CATFISH
There are still some cats biting. Near restroom 2, Rawson cove, and the inlet are the usual hot spots for catfish. Cut Bait such as mackerel, shrimp, or anchovies usually do the trick. Lester Albury of San Marcos got the biggest cat of the week at 29.8 pounds fishing in Rawson cove with a swimbait.
??
PANFISH
??If all you want is an easy catch bluegill have been biting great along the dams. Live worms or mini jigs work the best.??
