This past week has been blown out for most of the days. There has been some gnarly winds and has resulted in boats not being able to launch. If you are able to find a non-windy day to get out, fishing has been decent for most lately. Stripers are still hitting cut bait down deep, and are also still going after the shad. Some anglers have still been getting them off of boils first thing in the morning and later in the evening, but they have been tougher to spot with the bad winds. The largemouth and smallmouth are still biting shad imitation baits, and the good old nightcrawler. Even an Oxblood or Hologram shad Robo worm has been doing the trick. With the abundance of shad around the marinas lately, a lot of anglers have been seen netting shad and reports have been good for those using live bait. The bluegill are still biting and the crappie bite has remained steady at the lagoon. The catfish have been slowing down with the water temperature dropping, but you can still manage one off of mackerel or chicken liver.
