Fishing in the winter weather here at Lake Perris has proved itself to be good. The Stripers, Trout and Bass are biting. They like the plastics, night crawlers and anchovies. The Crappie and Catfish are nibbling. Lake Perris is a beautiful place to fish.

These are the following reports:

Bass: Good avg 3.5 lbs.
Bluegill: Fair avg. 1.5 lbs.
Carp: Fair avg. 4.5 lbs.
Catfish: Good avg. 10.5 lbs.
Crappie: Good avg. 2.8 lbs.
Perch: Fair avg. 1.5 lbs.
Striper: Good avg. 13.3 lbs.
Trout: Good avg. 2.5 lbs.

Notable catch: JoJo Ramirez of Banning #11.85 Catfish on Anchovie caught at 11-12

Throughout the beginning to the middle of the week. We saw about the same action as last week, with Trout dominating the fishing catch. Ironically, the last two days of the week have produced surprising Crappie hits right out of the Marina. "Everybody... Trout!" says a local fisherman at Lake Perris in response to the great trout hitting down at Sail Cove. Ironic as it may seem, the trout have been hitting more frequently now that a moth ago or even last week!
