Yet another small DFG Trout plant this past week perked the striper up for those in search of big fish. High winds stirred up the water pushing the trout into deeper and more protected waters. Some fishermen who decided to push through the windy condtions and throw big baits scored big this week with not only double digits, but one angler scored with two double digit striper. And one 28 pounder caught out at Sharons rest. Largemouth Bass are continuing the quest for beds to spawn while the later spawn fish are hanging out in slightly deeper water in the usual spots. Reports of fish to 25 feet and as shallow as 10 and above. Plastics of a variety of colors and sizes have been used according to anglers willing to share that information. Trout action is slower in the upper lake due to winds but they are still being sighted around the Marina, along the Dam and points to the North. The boat bite has picked up for people venturing to points and deeper water. The fish arm being most productive. Not to much word on the Bouyline to the West. The lower lake has been producing Largemouth Bass to 6 and 7 pounds with an average bucket mouth holding at 3 pounds.
