As of September 13th, 2021 the lake capacity was 49%. We are still in season for bass fishing! Summertime is great for catching numerous bass. As the water temp is higher, metabolisms of bass are higher, therefore they eat alot and will eat baits twice their size. During the morning and late afternoon topwater plays an important role. Summertime is known as topwater season. You will want to use prop baits such as, whopper ploppers and buzz baits. Spooks are another viable option as it does a great job at mimicking a dying bait fish. Bass will tend to go deeper as soon as the sun gets high. You will want to fish off of main lake points, ledges, drop-off's, and humps. To catch these deeper bass, you will want to use bottom baits, such as jigs, texas-rigs (worm or creature baits), shakey heads, ned-rigs, drop-shot, and swing-head jigs. When fishing the east end of the  lake you will want to use bold dark or bright colors as the water is very murkey. When fishing towards the damn (west) you will want to use natural colors as it is more clear. The trout bite has picked up a bit, they are 40ft deep. Power bait has been working the best.
