As of August 15th the lake capaciity was 50%. We are currently in summer season for bass fishing. Summer time ie great for catching numerous bass. As the water temp is higher, bass’s metabolisms are higher, therefore they eat a lot and will eat baits twin their size. During the morning and late afternoon topwater plays an important rose. Summer time is knows as topwater season. You will want to use prop baits such as whoppers ploppers and buzz baits. Spooks are another viable option as it does a great job at mimicking a dying bait fish. Bass will tend to go deeper as soon as the sun gets high. You will want to fish off of manlike points, ledges, drop off and humps. To catch these deeper bass you will want to use bottom baits such as, jigs, Texas rigs ( worm or creature baits) shakey heads, ned-rigs, drop shot and swim head jigs. When fishing the east end of the lake you will want to use bold dark or bright colors as the water is very murky. When fishing towards the dam (west) you will want to use natural colors as it is more clear.

The trout bite has picked up a bit they are 40 feet deep. Powerbait has been working the best.
