Stripers have been biting lugworms, nightcrawlers and sardines throughout the day in  deeper water mainly off points and ledges. The canal by the entrance booth and the points past the swim beach area have been great spots to catch not only striper but catfish during the day typically using a larger sinker and long leader to manage the  wind and water conditions.

Bass have been caught using deep diving crank baits and jerk baits also off points and rocky outings within 30ft from the shoreline. Water levels have been lower than usual pushing more fish out towards deeper water.

Trout have slowed down a bit since the last plant on January 5th but some anglers have been  successful around Bear Trap and Posey cove fishing deeper with powerbait and nightcrawlers with a couple of split shots and a long leader as well to sit off the bottom.
