Pyramid Lake, CA Fish Report for 11-11-2022
Water temperature dropped into the mid-sixties
Pyramid Lake, CA - Caswell, CA (Los Angeles County)
by Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held at 93 percent of capacity, and the water temperature dropped into the mid-sixties. The last of the weeds are dying off, and bass should transition to their deeper winter haunts soon. There’s still plenty of bait up shallow, so anglers have been fishing from 5 to 30 feet deep. Finesse anglers used Senkos, drop shot, and Carolina rigs for bites, and reaction bait anglers threw crankbaits and small shad imitation swimbaits. The striper bite has been on the slow side with anglers hanging bait in 25 to 50 feet of water. Sardines and bloodworms were the best baits near the marina and Yellowbar. Anglers also reported scattered schools of striper near Chumash Island and Serrano Cove. Catfish anglers reported good fishing throughout the lake while using dip bait and chicken liver. Pyramid received the second trout plant of the season Monday, and anglers quickly lined the shore to haul in the freshly planted trout. Dough baits, minijigs, Mouse Tails, and lures did the trick.
