Lake Isabella Fish Report for 12-2-2022
This week the water temps dropped dramatically, and the bass bite slowed
Lake Isabella - Lake Isabella, CA (Kern County)
by Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held at 7 percent of capacity this week. This week the water temps dropped dramatically, and the bass bite slowed. Bass can be found with A-rigs, small swimbaits, jigs, and shaky heads. Crappie continue to show from 10 to 30’. They are being found in the submerged trees and near the structure around French Gulch. Live minnows continue to get bites along with crappie jigs. Catfish are still eating anything that smells, but anglers are doing best with shrimp, chicken liver and dip bait. Some anglers are landing bigger bass throwing trout imitation swimbaits. Trout can be caught with garlic scented baits, spinners, mice tails and worms. Boaters can find them trolling leadcore with needlefish, Tasmanian devils, and flicker shad around the dam.
