The lake remained near 85 percent of its capacity, and fishing has been good

Pyramid Lake, CA - Caswell, CA (Los Angeles County)

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake remained near 85 percent of its capacity, and fishing has been good. Trout anglers hauled in easy limits after recent plants. Get Bent Minijigs, Mousetails, dough baits, and spoons all worked for bites. Most anglers focused on fishing in the marina, but trout have been reported throughout the lake. Bass anglers used jigs, drop shot, and Texas rigs in 15 to 40 feet of water with brown, purple, and dark green getting the most attention. Deep diving crankbaits and vertical spoons also took plenty of fish. Striped bass ate cut sardines, live worms, and topwater lures throughout the lake, and catfish picked up chicken liver and dip bait in deeper coves.
