The lake rose to 92 percent of its storage capacity following the winter drawdown. Cold and windy conditions early in the week kept many anglers off the water. Fishing was decent for both smallmouth and largemouth bass with Texas rigs and drop shot presentations producing most of the bites. Shad-patterned crankbaits, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits also produced fish when worked along the mudlines. Striped bass anglers reported success while trolling umbrella rigs, A-rigs, and jerkbaits. Catfish anglers fishing the marina inlet landed good stringers of one- and two-pound fish while using cut bait. The trout bite was good again last week with anglers loading up on solid three pound rainbows. Trout took Powerbait, mousetails, minijigs, and spoons.
