Fishing at Castaic is fair right now. Largemouth bass are biting plastics and night crawlers in 20 to 40 ft. People are catching trout off the dam and around the marina. The catfish bite is still pretty good. Most catfish are being caught on nightcrawlers and anchovies. The striper bite is slow but we have seen a few good catches lately.

Water temperature: 55 degrees

Bass: Fair
Avg. Size: 2 lbs.

Catfish: Good
Avg. Size: 6 lbs

Trout: Fair
Avg. Size: 3/4 lb.

Fishing at Castaic is fair. Striper fishing has been slow. A few swimbait fish have been caught in the last couple of days. The cutbait bite is slow. Largemouth bass fighting has been pretty good in the mornings. A few big smallmouth bass have been caught recently with a couple in the 4 lb range. The trout fishing has been good around the marina. The past week at the upper lake has been moderate in terms of the amount of Anglers catching fish. Many bites are happening in deeper water around 35-60 feet down. The Striper bite is doing best on Spoons, Sardines, and Lug Worms. Hot spots include the backside of Kong Island and the entrance to Firebreak.
