Fishing at Castaic is fair. Striper fishing has been slow. A few swimbait fish have been caught in the last couple of days. The cutbait bite is slow. Largemouth bass fighting has been pretty good in the mornings. A few big smallmouth bass have been caught recently with a couple in the 4 lb range. The trout fishing has been good around the marina.

The past week at the upper lake has been moderate in terms of the amount of Anglers catching fish. Many bites are happening in deeper water around 35-60 feet down. The Striper bite is doing best on Spoons, Sardines, and Lug Worms. Hot spots include the backside of Kong Island and the entrance to Firebreak. Fishing at Castaic has been good. Stripers and largemouth bass are still boiling on shad. The best boils have been in the mornings. The end of the fish arm have been the best spots. Stripers and largemouth can also be caught on spoons and ice jigs in 30 to 60ft deep. Catfish are biting pretty steady on anchovies and mackerel. We should be receiving a trout plant next week.
