The past week at the upper lake has been moderate in terms of the amount of Anglers catching fish. Many bites are happening in deeper water around 35-60 feet down. The Striper bite is doing best on Spoons, Sardines, and Lug Worms. Hot spots include the backside of Kong Island and the entrance to Firebreak. The Largemouth bite is still doing good on Jerk Baits in the early morning and worms throughout the day. Try fishing from the shoreline to the right of the Main Launch Ramp and by C-point. Not much action from Catfish this past week to report. The water level is currently at 1378'.

Fishing at Castaic has been good. Stripers and largemouth bass are still boiling on shad. The best boils have been in the mornings. The end of the fish arm have been the best spots. Stripers and largemouth can also be caught on spoons and ice jigs in 30 to 60ft deep. Catfish are biting pretty steady on anchovies and mackerel. We should be receiving a trout plant next week. Striper boils have started to calm down a bit over the past week as stripers start to have dive to deeper depths. Bait, spoons, and worms have been working around 60 feet at the end of the Fish Arm by Utopia and Dry Gulch. Anglers are also having luck with same bait and lures around the back side of C-Point.
