Fishing has really taken off!! This past weekend the dock total passed 1,800 Albacore. This is what we've been waiting for. Albacore by the 4th of July. These fish have been real quality, 15 - 25 pounds with a lot right around 20 pounds. We're still getting some Bluefin in the mix along with some nice Yellowtail.

Some of the other boats got a little better numbers of fish than we did but we boated 140 Albacore, 7 nice Bluefin, and 10 Yellowtail for 28 guys on a 2 day trip. Still some good numbers. Our other boat, the Coral Sea, really nailed the fished. They had LIMITS of Albacore and 2 Yellowtail for 17 anglers. What a trip!

All this good fishing took place right during the full moon. A lot of guys don't want to fish the full moon because they think the bite shuts down but that's not always true. Talk to some of the old Skippers and they'll tell you there's a lot more conditions to look at than just the full moon; water temp, tides, swells, etc.

As we look ahead the fishing conditions should only improve. The forecast calls for the seas to flatten out even more and just some nice weather is on it's way. Remember though, it does get cool at night.

We'll be heading out for our 2.5 day 4th of July trip tomorrow night. This is going to be a fun trip, two full days of sun up to sun down fishing and we still have 3 spaces available as of this writing.

We just scheduled a new 1.5 day trip that leaves on Tuesday July 10th and returns on Thursday the 12th. Trip price is $345 plus the fuel surcharge and everything except beverages are included. Call us at (619) 997-9993 for info or to book your trip.

We hope to see you on the water.

We're leaving tonight on a 2 day open party trip. We're taking out a light load, about 16 anglers or so. This is going to be a great trip for the guys on board, plenty of elbow room at the rail and room to spread out in the bunk room. Our last trip was a 1.5 day last weekend and we only had 13 Yellowtail. We found a lot of good looking water under a beautiful sky. We also came across...... Read More

The first Albacore of the season have been caught!! The Royal Star, fishing 90 miles from San Diego, boated the first Albies of the year. So far they have only registered in with three fish weighing 22 - 25 pounds but we have to start somewhere. This may be a good sign. The Albacore are supposed to arrive around this time. Last year they came in April and were out of here by the end of June. Let's all hope...... Read More
