Trout bite was excellent with anglers using 12 to 14 inch leaders, power bait ( especially rainbow, lime twist, lemon twist), night crawlers, jigs and lures ( especially Jakes, Panther Martins). Hot spots included the eastern shore and western shore of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Lots of limits went out with good size on most fish. Catfish are active with anglers using mackerel, shrimp and chicken livers. Hot spots for catfish include the eastern shore of lake 2 as well as the western shore of lake 3 near the drain.

Catches of the week:??
Victorville angler, Eugene Todd caught his limit which included a 5 lb ruby red steelhead.
Todd fished the inlets of lake 2 and used a gold jake.
Dave Smith of Hesperia caught 2 trout and 3 catfish that weighed 11 lbs, 8 lbs 3 ozs and 5 lbs 6 ozs to limit while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2. He used power bait and mackerel to catch his fish.
Bob Stone visiting from North Carolina reeled in a 10 lbs 9 ozs and a 25 lbs 8 ozs catfish using mackerel as well and finished his limit with three nice rainbows.
John Chapman of Anaheim caught a 4 lbs 3 ozs trout to limit using yellow and white Lip Ripperz on the eastern logged shore of lake 3.
Robert Barr of Tustin limited with a nice 5 lbs 15 ozs rainbow on the eastern shore of lake 3 as well. He used a mouse ( power bait with a power worm tail).

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.

Trout action was good on both lakes with anglers using 12 to 18 inch leaders, power bait ( especially spring green, chartruese and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures to score limits. Lot of limits went out this week despite the low weather system that went through this weekend and the full moon. Smokey skies have varied from moderate to fair.??
