Striper have become more active this past week. Bob Caffrey of Trout Only Guide service put clients on some quality fish while trolling this past weekend. Average fish tripping 8 pounds with a few 12 pounders in the mix. Other anglers report stripers to 15 pounds. One confirmed fish topped 22 pounds from the damn on cut bait. LMB are still on plastics with some cranks, spinners and jerks baits taking quality fish to 4 pounds. Anglers are also reporting a little more cat fish action wit most fish in the 2-4 pounds. No trout reported. No fan fish reported.

Castaic LakeThe heat continues to bring the water temp up in the upper 70's to low 80's with the algae bloom making it a little tougher to get the office. Castaic LakeWith the big heat wave that we had last week the water temp spiked to almost 80 degrees in the back of some of the coves. Water clarity is about 1-2 feet because of the alge. LMB are still hitting on plastics and some swimbaits with few reported in mornings. Striper were making a slow come back but are being driven down and hovering around 30 to 60 feet of water.
