BASS
Largemouth bass fishing continues to amaze even the most experienced anglers. Bass have been stuffing themselves with trout so throwing swimbaits early in the morning or afternoon near the marina and east dam has been the best way to get big fish. Carolina rigging brushhogs has been a great method for largemouth during mid day. Watermelon or green pumpkin have been the best colors for the brushhog. Anglers who have spotted the scattered shad schools appearing around the lake have landed some nice bass using smoking shad flukes.

TROUT
The back to back trout plants have resulted in a much improved trout bite. Shore fishermen have faired the best with Roostertails, Kastmasters, nightcrawlers, or powerbait. Stephen Kayczas of Hemet got a 3.03 pound trout fishing with red, white, and blue powerbait.

STRIPER
If you want big striper DVL is the place to be. There have been no striper caught under ten pounds. Zplugs, BBZ's, the Triple Trout, and LA Sliders caught some big stripers this week. Jesse Mena of Hemet got a 11.94 pound striper fishing from shore with a fluke.

CATFISH??
There is still a catfish bite at DVL. Mackerel, anchovies, and shrimp are the best bet for cats and the Inlet tower, the east dam and behind restroom 2 have been the best spots.

PANFISH
Panfish have been moving away from the banks and becoming harder to find as the water temperature's drop. There have been a few notable catches this week. Live worms or mini jigs usually are the best baits for panfish.
