Fishing has slowed down a little bit this past week, but fish have been chasing and feeding on bait fish heavily still. Shad and silverside minnows have been the bait that are most prevalent. Boils in general have slowed down to where stripers have not really been going off largemouth have mainly been boiling first thing in the morning before the sun hits the water and later in the afternoon. Finesse style baits such as flukes and the good old drop-shot have been doing the trick for some quality largemouth and smallmouth.

Anglers netting live shad have also been having very productive days. The stripers are still being caught on the troll with producer flies and umbrella rigs. They might pick up a lug worms or nightcrawler on the bottom as well. The catfish are still biting here and there with mackerel and chicken liver working best. The bluegill and crappie have slowed down a tad, with the lagoon producing better quality lately. Wax worms and meal worms always do the trick.
