Lack of wind brought the fishermen back to the shore line as well as private boaters. Largemouth Bass on the chew better than the last few weeks with many limits caught by those targeting the bass. Night crawlers have proven that natural food still works as they seem to be wanting more of the wigglers. Plastics also proved effective for those fly lining senkos, texas rigging robos and like baits with a caroline rig and drop shotting also proved highly effective. Striper have perked up some what form the last week with many anglers reporting single, double and triple limits on both big baits and cut baits as well. Unconfirmed reports state fish from 12 pounds up to 17 pounds caught near shore lines in the fish arm while bouy line in the ski arm has produced schoolie sized striper in the 1 to 4 pound class with a few 5 and 7 pounders in the mix. The upper lake has had a run of large a quantity of carp the past couple of weeks with confirmed reports of May over 20 pounds and a large number of 15 plus pounders taken out of the water. Cats gave a little bit of a show this past week with an average of 2 to 3 pounds being caught of mackerel, frozen shad and night crawlers. Trout action continues to keep people busy both in the upper and lower lakes thanks to a mid week plant by the DFG. Confirmed double limits for one boater on the troll with undisclosed locations. Lagoon bass turned on a bit as well for those on shore and tubes.
