As of July 18th the lake capacity was at 56%. We are currently in summer season for bass fishing. Summer time ie great for catching numerous bass. As the water temp is higher, bass’s metabolisms are higher, therefore they eat a lot and will eat baits twin their size. During the morning and late afternoon topwater plays an important rose. Summer time is knows as topwater season. You will want to use prop baits such as whoppers ploppers and buzz baits. Spooks are another viable option as it does a great job at mimicking a dying bait fish. Bass will tend to go deeper as soon as the sun gets high. You will want to fish off of manlike points, ledges, drop off and humps, ned rigs, drop shot and swing head jigs. When fishing the east end of the lake you will want to use natural colors as it is more clear. The trout bite is very slow due to hot water temps.
