Castaic Lake reopened on Saturday and was stocked with trout on Tuesday. Fishing was excellent with dough baits, minijigs, and trout lures producing steady action on rainbows near the West Ramp. Bass anglers reported prespawn conditions and caught fish on creature baits, jigs, and finesse baits in 10 to 30 feet of water, with larger females staged in typical holding areas. Orange crusher, ox blood, and green pumpkin fooled quality bass. Striper action remained slow as most anglers targeted trout and bass. Catfish anglers found success on dip bait and chicken liver at the West Ramp.
