Lake Isabella has risen to 57% of its storage capacity this week, with water temperatures now in the mid-60s. The bass bite remains solid, with anglers finding success using jigs, swimbaits, Senkos, and drop-shotting Roboworms in Oxblood and MM111 patterns. Productive areas include Rocky Point, Piney Point, and the South Fork trees, where fish are holding in good numbers. Crappie action has been excellent over the past few weeks, with anglers consistently picking up quality slabs in 10 to 20 feet of water on 1/16-ounce jig heads paired with 2" Keitech swimbaits, while others are limiting out using live shiners and a variety of colored mini jigs. The catfish bite has also been excellent, with cut baits such as shad and anchovies producing steady action. The trout bite continues to hold steady leading up to derby weekend, with anglers catching fish on trout jigs, mice tails, spinners, and garlic-doused pinched crawlers.
