Castaic held at full pool, and water temperatures remained in the mid-70s. Anglers reported good bass fishing, with both largemouth and smallmouth bass biting finesse presentations in 5 to 30 feet of water. Drop-shot rigs, Carolina rigs, and Senko-style baits produced the best results, with shad, cinnamon, and purple proving to be the most effective colors. The larger bass continued to come from deeper water along main-lake and secondary points. Striped bass were caught by anglers using cut sardines on major points and along the buoy line, while catfish provided a dependable bonus catch for bank anglers fishing cut baits near the west ramp.
