Hot weather forced most aqueduct anglers to fish early or late in the day, and the results were decent. Striped bass bit fairly well on cut baits, bloodworms, and live minnows, while flukes, swimbaits, and jerkbaits also produced during the cooler parts of the day. Many anglers targeted catfish at night and were rewarded with good action, as the whiskerfish readily took chicken liver, dip baits, and cut baits fished on the bottom below check gates. Several striped bass were also caught by catfish anglers fishing with chicken liver. Bass anglers experienced decent fishing during the early morning and late evening hours, with topwater lures and soft plastics producing the best results.
