The department of fish and game has stocked the upper lake at the main launch ramp with 3100 pounds of catchable sized rainbow trout on Monday, May 10th. Striper fishing at the buoy line has been doing great all week long and doesn't show signs of stopping. Sardines and anchovies are working great all day off the dam and in most coves. Some swimbait stripers are showing up but it has been unusually quiet for such a big trout plant. With the warmer weather the large mouth have been going crazy, it still keeps getting better and better. Plastics are the way to go, in the morning the brighter colors work and throughout the rest of the day the more natural colors keep them interested. You can go to almost any cove to catch fish it's that good. Weekends are a little bit harder due to the big crowds. The lower lagoon fishing has still been pretty good on pan fish and largemouth bass. The pan fish are still eating the crappie jigs and small worms, and the largemouth are biting on plastics and night crawlers.
