This past week at Castaic Lake showed improved bites from Catfish and Largemouth. Big Catfish have been coming out of Elizabeth Canyon and Utopia Cove on Mackerel and Sardines. The Largemouth have been biting in the early morning and late afternoon on worms, mainly. Many anglers have been having luck around Hawk's Nest, the shoreline, and Coash Cove. The Striper bite is still holding up and boils continue to be seen throughout the day. Hot spots include the marina and Elizabeth Canyon. The water level is still dropping about a foot a day and cut at 1395'.

Bass: Excellent
Avg. Size: 3 lbs

Bluegill: Fair
Avg. Size: 1 lb

Catfish: Fair
Avg. Size: 7 lbs

Striper action is still the hot ticket up here on the upper lake. Boils are still going hard throughout the day and many Shad can still be seen swimming around many different areas of the lake. any top water lures such as Kastmasters, Lucky Craft, and Spooks are still the best baits to throw out. Striper boils show no sign of stopping any time soon. Boils can be seen almost every morning in the marina of the upper lake. The Dam and shoreline are great places places to post up fist things in the morning for great shoreline action.
