Anglers continued to catch the last of the recently planted trout at BV with several standout rainbows reported. A variety of baits worked, but garlic-scented dough bait remained the most consistent producer. Trolling small swimbaits, spoons, and jerkbaits also produced quality fish. Largemouth bass anglers reported bites on weightless Senkos, Texas-rigged six-inch worms, and chatterbaits as pre-spawn and spawning fish moved shallow. Texas-rigged lizards are also a reliable option at BV this time of year. Crappie anglers found success near the islands while using swimbaits, minijigs, and small live minnows for limits. Catfish anglers reported steady action while using chicken liver, cut sardines, and SSS dip bait.
