Aqueduct anglers reported good fishing overall, with striped bass and catfish providing the best action. Striper anglers continued to do well using cut baits, live worms, and jumbo live minnows, while many anglers relied on fly-lined presentations and “walk-the-dog” techniques to get bites. Soft jerkbaits on jig heads and tube baits also continued to produce fish along the bottom, with white, brown, and chartreuse drawing the most attention from striped bass. Catfish were caught on chicken liver, dip bait, and cut anchovies near outtake grates and in calmer water downstream of check gates, with long soaks proving to be the best method for hookups. Largemouth bass anglers found success at first light with Whopper Plopper-style baits, poppers, and walking baits, while most of the later action came on Senkos and Roboworms fished on drop-shot rigs or fly-lined presentations.
